01 General
1.1 Project Description
Delivered to the USA in 2024, this 1000 kVA three-phase pad-mounted transformer complies with IEEE Std C57.12.34-2022 and meets DOE 2016 energy efficiency standards. It operates at 60 Hz with a primary voltage of 24 kV and a secondary voltage of 480GrdY/277 V, featuring a Dyn1 vector group. The transformer utilizes copper windings and KNAN cooling, and is filled with FR3 natural ester oil to enhance fire safety and environmental sustainability. Equipped with loop feed functionality, dead-front access, and a no-load tap changer offering a ±2 × 2.5% voltage regulation range, the unit has a 5.75% impedance, a no-load loss of 1.020 kW, and an on-load loss of 8.170 kW, ensuring efficient and dependable medium-voltage power distribution.
The 1000 kVA dead front transformer reduces the risk of arc flash during operation or maintenance. Its dead front construction includes fully insulated rubber bushings, with terminations made via loadbreak elbows, ensuring enhanced safety and ease of connection.
