02 Manufacturing

2.1 Core

Reduced Material Loss: Continuous silicon steel strips reduce material waste and increase manufacturing efficiency.

Reduced Eddy Current Losses: Thin layers of silicon steel limit the generation of eddy currents, effectively increasing efficiency.

Improved Magnetic Flux Distribution: The uniformity of the core helps achieve a more even magnetic flux distribution, reducing energy loss.

Reduced Noise: The continuity of the structure reduces vibrations, making operation quieter.

Increased Mechanical Stability and Durability: The stable structure is suited for high loads and harsh environments.

Increased Production Efficiency: The production process can be highly automated, reducing costs.

2.2 Winding

167 KVA pole distribution transformer windingSymmetrical Winding Distribution: The structure of the windings is typically simple, with high-voltage and low-voltage windings closely coupled to minimize leakage flux.

Compact Design: The windings and core are arranged to achieve a compact size and lightweight design, making them suitable for pole-mounted applications, such as rural distribution networks.

Stable Performance: Reliable winding and insulation designs ensure stable voltage transformation and long-term operational safety.

2.3 Tank

The oil tank is typically rectangular or cylindrical in shape and is made of high-quality steel plates welded together. It features excellent strength and sealing properties to withstand internal oil pressure and external environmental stress. he surface of the tank is usually coated with an anti-corrosion layer to resist harsh environmental conditions such as high temperatures, humidity, and pollution, thus extending the transformer’s lifespan.cylindrical shape oil tank of pole distribution transformer

2.4 Final Assembly

Core and Winding Assembly of pole distribution transformerCore and Winding Assembly

Install the high-voltage and low-voltage windings onto the core, ensuring insulation and concentricity.

Body Installation

Place the core and winding assembly into the oil tank.

Install leads and insulating bushings, ensuring proper sealing.

Filling Transformer Oil

Inject filtered transformer oil, ensuring it is clean and free of impurities.

Install External Accessories

Attach safety valves, oil level gauges, and terminal connections.

03 Testing

1. Ratio Test-Using a transformer turns ratio tester (TTR), perform a ratio test to verify the primary- to-secondary winding ratio. The measured value should be within 0.5% of the voltage ratio indicated on the transformer nameplate. If the transformer is provided with high-voltage taps (or low-voltage taps on step-up/step-down trans- formers having low-voltage ratings above 600 Volts), measure the ratio at each tap position to ensure that each of the ratios is correct. When internal low-voltage windings have been reconfigured by the user as described above in “Reconfiguring the Low-Voltage Internal Con- nections”, the ratio test will confirm that the transformer has the correct output voltage and polarity.

2. Insulation Resistance Test-Perform a 1,000 Volt insulation test (Megger test) to measure the resistance of the insulation between windings and from each winding to ground. Follow the instructions and safety precautions provided by the test equipment manufacturer. Prior to the test, bushings must be thoroughly cleaned with denatured alcohol to remove any moisture or contaminants that could influence the test results. Measured resistance should be at least 1.0 GΩ.
