SCOTECH – reliable 25 kVA single pole transformer manufacturer & supplier
01 General
1.1 Project Description
The 25 kVA Single-Phase Pole Mounted Transformer from SCOTECH is easy to install on overhead utility poles. It is highly reliable and comes with essential accessories. Pole-mounted units like this are ideal for rural areas or places with overhead lines. They are simple to install, easy to maintain, and cost-effective for low-density communities.
This transformer steps down high-voltage electricity (24,940 GRDY/14,400 V) to a safe 120/240 V output for homes and small businesses on 60 Hz networks. It has aluminum windings and a laminated steel core. Efficiency is ≥98.87%, with no-load loss of 85 W and load loss of 254 W. Its impedance is 1.97% (±10%), ensuring stable voltage under load.
It includes a Non-Load Tap Changer (NLTC) with a ±2×2.5% tap range for voltage adjustment. The 18 kV high-voltage arrester protects the single pole transformer from overvoltage and lightning surges. The unit uses ONAN cooling and mineral oil insulation, with a sealed tank for reliable outdoor performance. The transformer uses ONAN cooling and mineral oil insulation, with a sealed tank design for reliable outdoor operation. It can be easily mounted on wooden or concrete utility poles, requiring minimal maintenance.
Ideal for residential neighborhoods, farms, and small commercial facilities, this single pole transformer provides reliable power in rural and suburban distribution networks, network extensions, and areas prone to surge or lightning events.

02 Manufacturing
2.1 Core
The heart of a pole-mounted transformer is its magnetic core, usually made of thin steel layers. The core helps magnetic energy move easily between the primary and secondary windings. This allows the transformer to provide steady voltage with low energy loss and work reliably every day. | ![]() |
2.2 Winding
![]() | These transformers have aluminum foil for the low-voltage side. Copper wire is used for the high-voltage side. The factory runs the two processes separately with dedicated machines and trained staff. We test insulation, size, and resistance for every coil to make sure each unit performs as designed. |
2.3 Tank
| The tank body, cover, and all external welded components undergo anti-corrosion treatment after welding to adapt to outdoor, humid, coastal, and other environments prone to corrosion or salt spray. This process ensures that the transformer can operate stably for a long time, even in areas with strong sea breezes and high humidity. | ![]() |

05 Site And Summary
![]() | Even in harsh coastal environments, pole-mounted transformers remain reliable, but routine inspection is essential. Salt-laden air, summer storms, and winter ice can accelerate corrosion or create mechanical stress. Key risks include: • Oil leaks • Lightning-induced failures • Overloads during sudden demand spikes To reduce climbing hazards, utilities often rely on thermal sensors and drone inspections to monitor transformer condition from the ground. |
