The two sides held in-depth business discussions and technical exchanges, exploring future collaboration and reaching preliminary cooperation intentions for the client’s specific needs in a terminal petroleum storage project.
Malaysia, as a key energy and trading hub in Southeast Asia, has been steadily increasing investment in power infrastructure in recent years. Our visiting client has deep expertise in petroleum storage and terminal operations, placing exceptionally high demands on power equipment reliability, corrosion resistance, and customization capabilities.
During the meeting, the SCOTECH team presented a comprehensive overview of our company’s history, technical strengths, and global footprint. As a high-tech enterprise specializing in R&D, production, and sales of transformers, SCOTECH is headquartered in Jiangshan, Zhejiang, China, with strong design and manufacturing capabilities. Our product portfolio covers power transformers, pole-mounted transformers, dry-type transformers, special-purpose transformers, and more, widely used in power utilities, industrial facilities, renewable energy, and other fields.
Regarding delivery capability, SCOTECH detailed our lead times: 30–50 days for small/standard transformers, and a maximum of six months for large units such as 100 MVA and above. For the client’s specific petroleum terminal project, our technical team conducted a dedicated engineering review. The terminal environment presents harsh conditions-high salt spray, high humidity, and strong corrosiveness-which demand superior anti-corrosion performance and long-term operational stability from the transformer. Based on the client’s site layout drawings, our team determined key parameters including overall dimensions, cable entry method, bushing position and sizing, ensuring a perfect fit for the installation site. We also presented our comprehensive Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), covering the full quality control chain from design, material sourcing, and manufacturing to testing, which received high recognition from the client.
In response to the coastal corrosive environment, SCOTECH will provide a tailor-made anti-corrosion solution for this transformer. The protective coating system will be selected in accordance with ISO 12944-5:2018, employing a primer/intermediate/topcoat system. Critical metallic components will be made of corrosion-resistant materials such as 316L austenitic stainless steel, and all externally sourced components like bushings will be of enhanced salt‑fog‑resistant types. This comprehensive anti-corrosion design ensures long‑term, reliable operation of the transformer in the terminal’s saline atmosphere.
This visit not only deepened mutual understanding and trust but also laid a solid foundation for SCOTECH’s further expansion into the Southeast Asian market.
