Nicaraguan Clients Visit SCOTECH For Successful Factory Acceptance Of 20/25MVA Power Transformer

Nicaraguan Clients Visit SCOTECH for Successful Factory Acceptance of 20/25MVA Power Transformer

August 14, 2026 – SCOTECH welcomed three clients from Nicaragua for the factory acceptance test of a previously ordered SFZ-20000/25000-138 power transformer, along with a tour of the company’s showroom and manufacturing facilities. The General Manager of SCOTECH, together with the technical, production, and quality teams, hosted the visit and extended a warm welcome to the guests.

Witnessing Rigorous Tests – All Performance Data Exceed Specifications
The transformer under acceptance has a rated capacity of 20 MVA (ONAN) / 25 MVA (ONAF), with a high‑voltage side of 138 kV and a low‑voltage side of 34.5 kV, vector group YNyn0+d, and a tapping range of ±10×1.25%. It is designed and manufactured in full compliance with IEC 60076 series standards. In SCOTECH’s high‑voltage test hall, the clients observed the complete set of routine and type tests, including:

  • Lightning Impulse Test (LI): A peak voltage of 650 kV was applied to the HV side. The waveform parameters were T1=1.35 μs and T2≈47 μs for all three phases, all passing at the first attempt without any breakdown or flashover. The chopped‑wave test also performed flawlessly.
  • Applied Voltage Test (AV): The LV side was subjected to 95 kV to earth, and the HV neutral to 140 kV to earth, both for 60 seconds, with stable leakage current and reliable insulation.
  • Induced Voltage Test with Partial Discharge Measurement (IVPD): At 1.58Ur/√3 for 5 minutes, the partial discharge level remained below 80 pC throughout, far superior to the standard limit, indicating a clean and reliable insulation system.
  • Sound Level Measurement: The measured sound level was 57 dB under ONAN and 69 dB under ONAF, both significantly better than the guaranteed value of ≤80 dB. The clients personally verified the readings with a handheld sound level meter on site.
  • No‑load Loss: Measured at 18.262 kW (guaranteed 22 kW), 16.9% better than the contract requirement.
  • Load Loss (ONAN): Measured at 69.071 kW (guaranteed 72 kW), 4.1% better than the guaranteed value.
  • Short‑circuit Impedance: Measured at 10.5%, exactly matching the design value.
  • Winding DC resistance, ratio deviation, zero‑sequence impedance, and Frequency Response Analysis (FRA) correlation coefficients all met or exceeded the technical specifications. In particular, the FRA curves showed excellent three‑phase consistency, indicating no winding deformation.

The clients carefully reviewed all raw data and oscillograms for each test and expressed high appreciation for the precision of SCOTECH’s test equipment and the professionalism of the operating staff. At the end of the acceptance process, the clients signed the factory acceptance certificate on the spot.

In‑Depth Showroom and Factory Tour – Experiencing SCOTECH’s Manufacturing Excellence
During the showroom tour, the clients gained a detailed understanding of SCOTECH’s history as a global transformer manufacturer, its core technology patents, and its worldwide project portfolio. The displayed typical project cases covered North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, and Oceania, giving the visitors a clear picture of SCOTECH’s deep international presence.

The clients then walked through the production workshop, visiting in sequence the core stacking shop (high‑permeability grain‑oriented silicon steel cutting, automatic stacking, and binding), coil winding shop (disk‑type winding section winding, pressing, and drying), insulation parts machining center (precision cardboard cutting and forming), final assembly and vacuum oil filling area (core assembly, lead welding, vacuum drying, and oil filling), and the finished product test station. The clients paid special attention to tank welding quality, sealing structures, and the protection rating of cooling fans. SCOTECH’s production manager introduced in detail the stainless steel fasteners, NBR gaskets, C5M high‑durability painting system (guaranteed for over 15 years), and the conservator with oil pillow and dryer. The clean and well‑organized workshop, automated processing equipment, and strict in‑process inspection records – with independent quality cards for each step – left a strong impression on the clients.

Client Praise and Promising Cooperation
The client representative commented: “From design parameters to manufacturing processes, from test data to site management, SCOTECH has demonstrated world‑class standards. The performance of this transformer has even exceeded our expectations, especially the loss and noise figures, which we are very satisfied with. We are full of confidence in our long‑term cooperation in the future.”

In response, the General Manager of SCOTECH said: “The successful acceptance of the first unit for our Nicaraguan client is the starting point of mutual trust. SCOTECH will continue to provide reliable products and professional services to support our client’s grid development and jointly promote the clean energy transition.”

The acceptance and plant tour concluded successfully, further strengthening SCOTECH’s brand reputation in the Central American market. SCOTECH remains committed to the principles of “efficiency, sustainability, and environmental responsibility,” delivering superior power solutions to customers worldwide.
