On August 1, 2025, two important clients from South Africa visited SCOTECH’s factory to conduct a rigorous acceptance inspection of a 20MVA power transformer. As a reputable enterprise in the field of transformer manufacturing and sales, SCOTECH attached great importance to this acceptance inspection, made careful preparations, and cooperated with the clients to complete a series of comprehensive and detailed tests, aiming to fully demonstrate the excellent performance and reliable quality of the product.
During the acceptance inspection, the test items carried out were rich and critical. In terms of insulation and gas detection, measurements of dissolved gases in the dielectric liquid were conducted for each separate oil compartment (except the diverter switch compartment) to ensure good internal insulation performance of the transformer and timely detect potential fault hazards. Meanwhile, a leak test with pressure (tightness test) was performed on the liquid-immersed transformer to ensure that there was no leakage risk and maintain long-term stable operation.
The electrical performance tests covered several core links. By measuring the voltage ratio and checking the phase displacement, the accuracy of the transformer under different voltage conversions was verified. The ratio and polarity of the built-in current transformers were checked to ensure the accuracy of current measurement and transmission. The measurement of winding resistance was used to evaluate the quality and connection status of the windings. The core and frame insulation check was carried out for liquid-immersed transformers with core or frame insulation to ensure reliable insulation performance. The insulation test of auxiliary wiring further improved the safety detection of the electrical system.
In addition, a series of load and operation-related tests were conducted, including the applied voltage test (AV), measurement of no-load loss and current, measurement of short-circuit impedance and load loss, etc., to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the transformer under different operating conditions. An operation test was carried out on the on-load tap changers to verify their flexibility and reliability in regulating voltage during the operation of the transformer. At the same time, the induced voltage withstand test was completed to ensure the insulation reliability of the transformer in a high-voltage environment.
Throughout the acceptance inspection process, SCOTECH’s professional technical team closely collaborated with the South African clients, making detailed records and in-depth analyses of each test link.
