This training aims to improve the staff’s understanding and application of transformer insulation technology, including insulation materials, insulation levels, and the practical operation and principle of various insulation tests.

The trainers described the definition, function and types of insulation materials, and learned that the selection and use of various insulation materials directly affect the safety and reliability of transformers.
The concept of insulation level is an important index in transformer design and operation. In the training, the definition of insulation level and its effect on transformer performance were explained in detail. Employees have gained a deeper understanding of how to assess and maintain the insulation levels of transformers.
In order to ensure that the insulation system of the transformer in operation can withstand various electrical stresses, the training specifically emphasizes two important insulation tests:
(1) External pressure test: The purpose, operation process and precautions of external pressure test were introduced in the training. This test is used to verify the resistance of the transformer insulation system to high voltages, ensuring safe and reliable operation under both normal and fault conditions.
(2) Lightning shock test: Lightning shock test is to simulate the lightning shock that the transformer may encounter in actual operation. The training explained how the test was carried out and the requirements for the transformer insulation system to ensure the stability and safety of the equipment in the event of lightning shock.
